Workshops & Consulting
DECEMBER 2010
London, England
Pure Grass Films – December 1 – 4, 2010
I will be working on an exciting multi-platform project in the Pure Grass Films London office. Â There are so many new ways to engage audiences these days with interesting complex stories and characters. Â I am very lucky to be exploring these exciting new frontiers with such talented creative executives. Â London is a great city to visit and as Samuel Johnson said: “When you tire of London you tire of life.”
NOVEMBER 2010
Bristol, England
Aardman Animation Studios – November 28 – 30, 2010
I will be back at Aardman on Gas Ferry Road working with the talented folks in the feature film department and the commercials and branded entertainment department. Â They are some of my favorite storytellers in the whole wide world! Â Bristol is also home to the regional headquarters of BBC West, and the BBC Natural History Unit. Â Locations in and around Bristol often feature in the BBC’s natural history programs, including the children’s television program Animal Magic, filmed at Bristol Zoo.

Berlin, Germany
DFFB Film School – Master Class – November 21 – 26, 2010
I will be back teaching in Berlin, another wonderful city I have visited many times and am alway happy to come back to. Â The German Film and Television Academy (dffb) was inaugurated as the first film academy in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1966. Â From the very beginning, the Academy has been dedicated to pushing artistic development in film and television. The heart of the Film Academy revolves around courageous, intelligent, powerful filmmaking. Each year over 250 new projects are realized at the dffb, from large to small. Many of them are shown in cinemas, at festivals, receive awards and find their way to television.
Paris, France
Meeting Friends and Family – November 13 – 20, 2010
My time in the City of Lights will be spent with friends and family and catching up with professional colleagues.  Look for me at a sidewalk café. Paris cafés are at least as famous as the Eiffel Tower, and for good reason: sitting and sipping is a relaxing treat.  Drinks are priced to allow time at your table, chatting, people-watching, reading or writing. Say hello if you pass by!
.

Cologne, Germany
International Film School – Master Class – November 8 – 12, 2010
I will be teaching at the International Film school, an educational initiative of the Government of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Film Foundation North Rhine-Westphalia. Partners supporting the school include the Film Foundation NRW and public broadcaster ZDF Television Network, one of Europe’s largest and most respected broadcasters.
Munich, Germany
eQuinoxe Germany – Master Class – November 4 – 5, 2010
I will be teaching a Master Class based on the Character Map and the Nine Character Types  in Munich, Germany under the auspices of eQuinox Germany. APRIL 2010
April 2010 – Screenwriting for Lawyers
April  24 – New York Law School – 185 West Broadway, New York, NY 10013-2921
I’ve never met a lawyer who didn’t have dozens of great stories. A legal practice deals with human nature at its best and worst and involves situations of tremendous conflict and deep emotion. Emotional conflict is the bedrock of all great films, television shows and novels. You have the stories. You have the basic writing skills. This one-day workshop will take what you already know and apply it to a new form.  Lots of lawyers have found fulfillment and second careers as writers.  Here’s how to start the process while still active in your legal practice.
